After the great start of the “Give “Pet”: School race” campaign in the municipality of Gabrovo, where 11 schools recycled 1,260 kg. waste and won great prizes, we say “Give “Pet”” to the municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa as well.
During the entire month of March this year, 10 schools in the town of Gorna Oryahovitsa and the smaller settlements in the municipality will collect plastic bottles from drinks, in a big school competition to win prizes of choice worth up to BGN 1,000.
Dear school boards, students and parents in the municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa, roll up your sleeves and start collecting empty plastic beverage bottles up to 3 liters from now. Give the campaign a strong start in your school!
Of course, the schools that hand in the biggest quantity of separately collected plastic drinks bottles up to 3L will win big prizes, chosen by the students themselves by anonymous online voting.
All schools will collect packaging waste separately in bins that we have specially distributed to them for this purpose. Every week we will collect and weigh the collected waste, part of the campaign, and report the provisional results on our Facebook page – the official communication channel for the campaign!

At the end of 2021, the Ordinance was adopted, which entered in force since the beginning of 2022! It lays down a requirement to improve the separate collection of plastic packaging from beverages with a volume of up to 3 liters, and this is exactly what we are focusing on in this campaign!
With the “Give “Pet”: School Race” campaign, we aim to collect separately all such bottles that will be generated as waste in the period until March 31 of this year in the municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa, and during the campaign we will explain the meaning and benefit from their separate collection and recycling, as well as other packaging waste.
