World oceans day was settled during the 1992 Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit. Since 2009 it is officially celebrated and bringing the attention to the state and problems of the World ocean.
On World Oceans Day, people around our blue planet celebrate and honor our ocean, which connects us all. Get together with your family, friends, community, and millions of others around our blue planet to start creating a better future.
World Oceans Day is uniting conservation action to grow the global movement calling on world leaders to protect 30% of our blue planet by 2030. This critical need is called 30x30. By safeguarding at least 30% of our land and ocean through a network of highly protected areas we can help ensure a healthy home for all!
